The purpose of this vision is to continue the legacy of the Late Dr. Jack Washington who advocated for change through an exploration of the Black Culture. Dr. Washington was a life long advocate for urban education reform, illuminated the influences and valuable contributions within the Black community, and was a scholar. Dr. Dawne Washington challenges cognitions that often lead to negative connotations of marginalized groups. The use of intercultural studies and positive psychology can make a significant shift in the reconstruction of underserved communities. Drs. Washington both have dedicated their lives to teaching, researching, and advocating for those who face sociopolitical challenges. Dr. Jack Washington’s legacy continues through his daughter’s own fashion sense.
